<< Unit 3 : Aeschylus >>

Unit 3 approaches Aeschylus (?525–456 BCE), the author of our only surviving trilogy, the Oresteia, which students will view in its entirety. On the surface Aeschylus is the least like Euripides: the eldest of the three tragedians, his language is difficult, his choruses abstruse, his characters strange and dark.

In this brief unit, students begin to produce drafts of the Semester project script and to look forward to the performance.
